Who are we?
The Pharmacy Informatics and Technology (formerly Electronic Medication Management) Specialty Practice group is a network of SHPA members who work to optimise patient care and outcomes when deploying, building, analysing data or using digital systems such as electronic medication records, e-prescribing, dispensing software, automated dispensing systems, smart pumps and pharmacy robots.
Why join?
Join the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Interest Group if you want to access our network of informatics and digital health experts and peers through the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Discussion Forum. You don’t need to specialise in informatics and digital health to join the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Interest Group.
To view the self enrolment option for the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Interest Group, we encourage members to login to the Online CPD platform via your SHPA Dashboard page (shpa.org.au/dashboard). This will sync your profiles to ensure your membership status is up to date in Online CPD and allow you to access member-only content (such as Specialty Practice).

If you are an experienced Pharmacy Informatics and Technology pharmacist or technician, why not apply to join the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Practice Group. Belonging to the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Practice Group gives you all the benefits of the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Interest Group, plus opportunities to support members of the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Interest Group and contribute to important SHPA work relating to informatics and digital health – including SHPA submissions relevant to Pharmacy Informatics and Technology, and SHPA education in Pharmacy Informatics and Technology.
Members of the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Practice Group are also eligible to nominate for election to the Pharmacy Informatics and Technology Leadership Committee.
