Who are we?

The Pain Management Stream is a network of SHPA members who provide pharmacy services to patients who are experiencing acute or persistent pain in a range of settings: acute surgical or critical care units, persistent pain clinics and other inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory or primary care settings. They may also be engaged in interdisciplinary pain services and analgesic stewardship services.

Why join?

Join the Pain Management Interest Group if you want to access our network of pain management experts and peers through the Pain Management Discussion Forum. You don’t need to specialise in pain management to join the Pain Management Interest Group.

To view the self enrolment option for the Pain Management Interest Group, please enter the username and password for your Online CPD account* (created for you by SHPA)

*Please contact specialtypractice@shpa.org.au if you are unable to see the self enrolment option or need assistance with your Online CPD account details.

If you have significant experience in pain management or analgesic stewardship, why not apply to join the Pain Management Practice Group. Belonging to the Pain Management Practice Group gives you all the benefits of the Pain Management Interest Group, plus opportunities to support members of the Pain Management Interest Group and contribute to important SHPA work relating to pain management and analgesic use – including Standard of Practice, position statements and fact sheets, SHPA submissions relevant to pain management e.g. codeine scheduling and opioid harm, and SHPA pain management education.

Members of the Pain Management Practice Group are also eligible to nominate for election to the Pain Management Leadership Committee.
