Who are we?

The Medication Safety Stream is a network of SHPA members who have an interest in medication safety.  Some members work in dedicated medication safety roles: either within or linked to a health service, for a hospital network, or at a state or national level. Other members of the Medication Safety Stream may not have a dedicated role in medication safety but have an interest in medication safety and how it contributes to safe patient care in their specialty.

Why join?

Join the Medication Safety Interest Group if you want to access our network of medication safety experts and peers through the Medication Safety Discussion Forum. You don’t need to specialise in medication safety to join the Medication Safety Interest Group.

To view the self enrolment option for the Medication Safety Interest Group, please enter the username and password for your Online CPD account* (created for you by SHPA)

*Please contact specialtypractice@shpa.org.au if you are unable to see the self enrolment option or need assistance with your Online CPD account details.

If you are an experienced medication safety practitioner or in a role with a focus on medication safety, why not apply to join the Medication Safety Practice Group? Belonging to the Medication Safety Practice Group gives you all the benefits of the Medication Safety Interest Group, plus opportunities to support members of the Medication Safety Interest Group and contribute to important SHPA work relating to medication safety – including Standard of Practice, position statements and fact sheets, SHPA submissions relevant to medication safety, and SHPA medication safety education.

Members of the Medication Safety Practice Group are also eligible to nominate for election to the Medication Safety Leadership Committee.
